Kate worked 9 years with the Michael J. Fox Foundation, and she now studies at Yale, after which she will become a full-time advocate for People With Parkinson’s.
I am entirely confident that she will make a substantial difference. – Bob D.

Kate Gendreau:
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1354026304
I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2000 at the age of 36. For almost nine of the 11 years since my diagnosis, I worked at a non-profit funding Parkinson’s research, where I learned much about how the Parkinson's research world functions. I aim to utilize my experience as a person with Parkinson's, together with my experience in the field of Parkinson's research funding, to help people with Parkinson's more effectively. To that end, I applied and was accepted to a Masters program in health policy at Yale University - an opportunity I cannot pass up, even at age 47, with Parkinson's. However, the amount of money that I have to borrow to achieve this goal is staggering, the interest rates are exorbitant, and I was not eligible for any of the 100+ grants I researched. So, I'm trying to raise some money to lessen the amount of debt I graduate with at least a little bit. I will be tracking my progress via this page and my blog: www.kategendreau.net/wordpress
She gives works of art in return

Well, I just could not wait to tell everybody.

And about Kate's secret life as a musician:

Kate Gendreau recorded these songs some years ago, singing to her computer, with a $20 microphone; playing the keyboard, which she adjusts to sound like any instrument she wants; all of the vocals, all of the vocal harmony, and all of the instruments are here, layers of music, all from this one person.
My son Soren Dawson added the visuals - scenes of my farm in Quebec. I warned you it is a shameless vanity post.
It’s a crazy thing to say, but none of this would have happened if we did not have Parkinson’s.
Kate on her computer, 2 songs out of dozens:

With Parkinson’s and the PD drugs, you can be anyone
Constant Sorrow: http://youtu.be/ZOKzx51NXto
But it hurts
