Default My dad is very

Ok like I said in an earlier thread my dad is on sinemet and that's all. He has been extremely tired. I'm not sure if it started when he started the medication. Does PD cause fatigue and if so can anyone recommend him trying o take something for it? Thanks

I have had fatigue through most of my pd..I've had to take a nap everyday..I dont believe sinemet to be the cause, however I take stalevo now, and I could sleep all day if after getting a good nights sleep, if I allowed myself to

Mirapex can cause drowsiness as well

Default energy

Energy reduction with Pd is a common problem with PWP. Many experience it. Also, Sinemet may lower the blood pressure in some, so ask his doctor about that. i hear that vitamin B-12 shots help. Check with his dr. about that.

SELEGILINE might help but has side affects. i definately feel it's affect.
i am always fatigued. but not from sinemet.

remember, once you start taking l-dopa, it's likely your natural dopamine production decreases - feedback loop. so when the sinemet wears off, you may feel worse than before you started taking it. so gotta take the right amount at the right time everyday. but the good far outweighs the bad imho.

Wondered if your dad is experiencing drowsiness caused by meds? Tiredness(fatique) is no stranger for pwp, neither are sleep attacks. Knowing which is which helps. If he is falling asleep a lot, perhaps is is meds. The problem with PD is it is difficult to know what is meds and what is PD. Once you are taking meds it changes the game, so if this has happened since going on PD drugs, unfortunately, it is no easier to see the wood for the trees

When I first noticed problems, one of the most prominent was bone deep fatigue. To this day it's bad, but it's been 8 years so i am used to it for the most part. Medication didn't help a whole lot. Naps do! And at least 20 minutes of movement everyday unless not up to it.
