I hadn't heard from Ibby In quite some time and was saddened today when I looked for contact information and found a site that said she passed away earlier this year.
See page 3 for the obituary. http://www.highlandsinfo.com/PDFarchives/11aug3.pdf I will miss her. She was a good friend. God Bless, Sunflower |

I loved Ibby so much. She was a super-kind, high-spirited woman, and I adored her. She used to send me care packages, even.
I had heard from her a number of times in the past year or two, as she spoke of her increasing desparation to improve her situation. I so much wanted to help her, and was trying to get better as fast as I could for her sake as much as mine. She wanted to join me here in South America, but logistics wouldn't allow. I am dedicating my healing in her name and to Carol Blann. Yes, so I am still down here in the wilds, but working with super-excellent neurologist/neurosurgeon, probably considered the best in the nation. Just as I always expected, his diagnosis for me is not PD but a Parkinson's-like syndrome. I have been off almost all the conventional meds for more than six months (I was dx-ed 20 years ago last month, and was taking enough PD meds to supply all of Latin America probably) except now for a very tiny bit. I still have a ways to go to have a "normal" life again - in great part because I probably need my other hip replaced soon, so walking has been limited. But I am in the pool twice daily swimming, dancing, and walking perfectly in the pool, my Hashimoto's hypothyroidism of 10 years has totally cleared up (blood tests indicate no disease!), my colon now functions perfectly for the first time in my life, I lost 35 pounds that needed to depart, I now have no more speech problems, plus I learned Spanish this year (it's the only language I speak on a daily basis) so I don't think dementia has set in. My doctor totally believes in the brain's plasticity, and that I can heal competely. We hardly ever mention Parkinson's whatever -and I rarely think about PD much, but instead focus on healing, on what it feels like to be better, even if it's just a little bit every day. We work now with certain plant medicines, Qi Gong, but mainly with a version of Gerald Epstein's Waking Dream Therapy (but in Spanish of course), a way of directing the mind and the healing imagination, and yes, most importantly a relationship to and a trust in the divine. I report all of this not because I can yet tell people specifically how to heal - I am stiil in the midst of my own journey. One has to seek as best one can....But I firmly believe that many things are possible, and wanted to offer a positive message for the sake of Ibby. In her memory, I will never give up, I am committed to forging the healthiest, happiest, most optimistic and positive life possible. Thank you, Ibby, for inspiring me to do so. |

for Ibby
When orchids brighten the earth, Darkest winter has turned to spring; May this grief flower with hope In every heart that loves you. May you continue to inspire us: To enter each day with a generous heart. - John O'Donohue sharilyn

...sad to hear about Ibby. I remember her interest in holistic approach to treating PD. She was interested in Ayurveda and communicated with me while I was going thru ayurvedic treatment/ She encouraged me to keep up with Ayurvedic meds and introduced me to Reiki. I was just reading some of her mails to me...She was a kind and caring person. I feel sad and miss her.
