Default Steroids and Parkinsons

After receiving a steroid shot for treatment of spinal stenosis, my husband's hand tremors became much stronger and almost constant. His neurologist "thinks" this might be caused by the steroids because the tremor is not just a resting tremor, but almost like essential tremor. Since he hadn't seen this happen before, he can't be sure and can't predict how long, or if this will wear off. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Please, any update to this? Now I'm concerned, because I'm having a steroid shot for treatment of spinal stenosis tomorrow. Any input much appreciated. Thanks.

Default cortisone

Hi Peony
I had a cortisone/steroid shot in my knee this last spring and it didn't affect my tremor in any way.
Of course, maybe the location of the injection is a determinant.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Victoria

Default cortisone and tremor

I had 9 days of cortisone therapy for an intestinal blockage 3 years ago. It didn't affect my tremor (modest) at all. Sure did make me chatty. When I went off the steroid, cold turkey, I felt lousy and that all my symptoms had gotten much worse (except the tremor). 10 days later I felt "fine" again.
