Default Here's a thought to throw into the mix..

Lately there has been some discussion on the use of testosterone treatment for aging and rejuvenation. Obviously there are hazards and potential for abuse but does anyone see that maybe we can kind of turn back the clock so to speak. These diseases are primarily linked to aging. Just a thought, my mind is working this morning but my hands aren't. LOL!

In a similar speculative vein, I have a doctor who wondered if anyone with parkinson's had tried Human Growth Hormone since it stimulates cell reproduction and regeneration (and might get you a job playing in the NFL . . .).

Default Seriously-

A couple of years ago I read a case study in an Australian medical journal in which an elderly (approx 70yo) man with Parkinson's who worked as an arborist in a fruit orchard came to his physician, the author or the paper. He complained of serious fatigue and depression. The doctor administered testosterone on a weekly basis, resulting in apparently great improvement in both conditions within a few weeks.

Otherwise, I have not heard of this approach in a Parkinson's case.

caveat; Slow-growing prostate cancer may be sped up by added testosterone.

Default on't think it works that way

Jim
Good idea, but although the disease is "normally" linked to aging, unfortunately when we replace the missing dopamine (l-dopa), we don't start looking or feeling younger.

It is well-known that neurons bathed in growth hormones thrive - it's like fertilizer for them. There are several studies going on right now (or about to launch) using - GDNF, with which we all should be familiar., etc. The problem lies in how to deliver the growth hormones.

Now we are being told that testosterone is beneficial. It may well be helpful with symptoms, but I will not look very good in a mustache and beard ! lol
