Default OT: Paneri's pills and rats

OK, so some time ago we ordered a couple months' worth of Dr. Paneri's pills from him in India. They are pricey, but we've tried so much else, so why not that, right?

So they came, and we tried them....didn't seem to help at all. And they smell to the heavens like a septic system. Plus the instructions were not particularly clear, what we were able to decipher was complicated (take the little brown pill in the morning with water....the larger brown pill with milk...the pills were incredibly similar in color and size and we were'nt sure which were which, plus they smell like dung and were very crumbly (many arrived broken with the entire bunch lying in a powder) such that we really were just not comfortable taking something that we didn't have any real idea what it was, given the rather significant similarties to dried cow pats, so we quit (no offense to anyone trying this, if it's working for you, great).

Months later, the pills had been sitting in their little plastic baggies in the top of the closet. We noticed a horrific smell coming from our room, notably, emanating from the closet. Rooting around, I found a dead rat amongst the gnawed-open baggies of Paneri's pills. We cleaned up and threw out all the pills we could find, vacuumed, sanitized, and figured, done. Noting, of course, that if the pills killed a rat, that was not a good sign for us people to take them! And no, we dont' have any rat poison or anything else that could've killed the rat, we have many pets and little kids and just don't have that stuff around.

But no, the smell continued for another couple of days and got WORSE! Just today I went back in there, holding my nose, and found ANOTHER dead rat, apparently of the same fate, on the floor of the closet behind the hamper. I am SO glad we quit taking those pills! This is sort of funny, in that we hope the rats died a happy, dopamine-induced death, but scary at the same time in that we could have been taking these pills ourselves and who knows what might have happened. BTW, I asked for but never received any testimonials or stats from Dr. Paneri concerning his pills for PD, nor any information about what exactly was in them. He did take our money, though.

Shocked

I think this is a very shocking post!

Did you take pictures?

Have you thought of posting this on the various PD blogs that discuss this doctor?
You might find others with similar stories that way.

We didn't take pictures, should have done that but when you see a dead rat, or two as in our case, in your house, your first thought is to get it OUT! And quickly!

I will post this on other forums as it was on another forum I heard about Dr. Paneri. He may work wonders for others, maybe if he treats you in person it is different.
