We'll probably have to wait until January 2009 -- and we'd be well served to NOT wonder about all the "what ifs" if scientists had been allowed to conduct proper research in the interim -- but whoever the next president is will almost certainly allow the door to be opened to ESCR and federal funding thereof.

We'll never know what's behind the door if we're not allowed to open it.
