Gastric motility (stomach function) can be a real pain in the butt, as many of us know. Meds and nutrients are absorbed in the small intestine and must clear the stomach first. If gastric action is sluggish, everything just sits and waits. And "waiting" meds get degraded as time passes, too. It makes management of our regimens a real challenge.
There aren't a lot of things on the shelf for the problem, either. Diabetics face similar problems so there is a lot of money to be made. It isn't like Big Pharma to miss out on that so there probably is a real roadblock of some sort. However, there is one thing that seems to work - ginger. It shouldn't be surprising given its age old use for such problems. I have been using it for several weeks now with increasingly positive results. A single dose as per the label with the first meds of the morning seems to be enough. And it comes with a host of "bonus" effects as well with no evident drawbacks.

I'm using Planetary Herbals 350 mg, but any reputable manufacturer should be OK on this one.
