Default Has anyone heard from Ron Hutton?

I am getting more and more concerned about Ron's situation vis-a-vis the mad weather that is beating the UK so mercilessly. Ron is in Kent in the southeast. His home is in the village of Selling which is so small that it is hard to find on the maps. It is due east of London and west of Canterbury about a dozen miles or so. On the south it is protected from the Channel by about 25 miles of high ground and chalk cliffs. But it is the north where he is in danger. He is seperated from the sea by only about five miles of tidal marsh. With waves hitting heights of thirty-five feet and winds pushing that water at about 80 MPH I can only assume the worst. And it keeps on going. Storm after storm.

If anyone knows how he is please let me know. Thanks.

Update 04/2013: L/C 200/50 8x; Beta Blocker; ACE Inhib; Ginger; Turmeric; Creatine; Magnesium; Potassium. Doing well.

Rick,

I can't talk about Ron's well-being directly, but I wouldn't be worried about him being flooded: most of the latest batch of really bad weather has been 200 miles to the west of Selling.

The Environment Agency produce maps of flood risk, the url below should take you to Selling:

http://maps.environment-agency.gov.u...&lg=1,&scale=8

Selling village should be OK, but, as you point out, the area to the north is flood prone.

It looks like a nice place to live.

John

I assume the UK does evacuations if an area is in danger?

He could be away from home or lost power, so no Internet/computer usage.

Hi Rick, there are plenty of people on the ground now looking after people who need to evacuate, and the link that John gave you will allow you to track what is happening local to Ron. It is bad, the flooding, and very worrying, but people are dealing with it. The salt marshes are actually a kind of flood defence in themselves. I hope, Ron, if you can see this, that you are warm and dry, and that Ricks fears are unfounded.

Hey, Rick
I was about to tell you that Ron was OK. He does a lot of traveling, but I heard from him the other day.

I will tell him that you were looking for him. I hope you are doing well.

Default I'm OK!!!

Hi All,
Many thanks for your concern but I am OK.
I proved that by flying last week to Las Vegas for a weeks holiday!!!
This meant 10 hours flying TWICE!!! After 22 years of PD!!
I even won on the roulette.
Sorry I have not been around but I have had a lot of computer trouble.
I bought a new computer, 1000MB and 8 Mb RAM
However it was no better. Could it be me?????

Thanks again for your concerns but I am OK
Best wishes
Ron
