Default American Academy of Neurology Film Festival

I entered a video in the AAN's contest. There are 99 submissions, 5 minutes or less. I think mine has the distinction of being the shortest!

All the videos are listed by number at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEC0277EBDE4F84D0. Mine is #58. Others about PD are: 1, 19, 24, 29, 33, 46, 53, 77, 92, 94.

One that I found particularly affecting is #18--a 17-year-old with Tourette's talking about his condition. Interestingly, this young man had 2 DBS surgeries.

Those of us who long for good news about stem cells may be encouraged by #36, which features an MS patient who made a remarkable comeback.

Default Another Video to Watch

I have my video entered into the 2012 NFF contest again this year. It's video #19. There are now 105 total videos entered in the contest.

But if you want to watch a non-PD video that I cried all the way through, watch #105 "Reconnected"! I cried not out of sadness, but out of the hope the video gave me as a possible solution in the future for PD. The video is not about treating PD, but it is about a treatment that's nothing short of miraculous for other movement disorders and for Tourette's Syndrome. This video should win the 2012 NFF in my opinion because of the message it conveys so clearly, the message that brain research IS making a difference! To view this video as well as those mentioned in Kathleen's original post, go to: http://patients.aan.com/go/about/neurofilmfestival
and click on Watch Videos.

Good luck to you, Kathleen! I think everyone who submits a video to the NFF is a winner because it takes a lot of courage to put yourself and your problems out for the public to view. I'm going to watch your video now!
