Default Skin cancer drug reverses Alzheimer's in mice

...In the study, researchers at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine gave mice mega-doses of bexarotene, a drug used to treat a type of skin cancer called cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. Within 72 hours, the mice showed dramatic improvements in memory and more than 50% of amyloid plaque -- a hallmark of Alzheimer's disease -- had been removed from the brain...

Default Made me cry

I also just read this extraordinary study at a different site

Drug Quickly Reverses Alzheimer's Symptoms in Mice

I am keeping my fingers crossed that the effects translate to humans!
What really got to me was the speed at which the recovery took place and of course the fact that we are talking about brain plaques again and that this (or a similar substance) may prove effective for us suffering with PD.
Isn't it all of our 's dream to have a sudden and completely effective CURE!!

It would be an interesting thing to speculate on.....

WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE IF YOU SUDDENLY HAD NO SYMPTOMS OF PARKINSONS LEFT?

I am sure it would take me a period of adjustment but I would feel like I'd been let out of jail (for a crime I never committed).
In seems like I would start running and hiking and exploring again, and never want to stop.

This is a superb discovery, hopefully will be consequences for PD too.
