At first I cried, then I got angry. How could nothing be done for this girl? She was diagnosed with PD at age 12, only it wasn't PD - it was far worse and not one professional could refer her? How did they rule out Parkinson's Plus Syndromes? Warning: this might be really upsetting especially for those with kids.

I do hope that the autopsy will shed some light on what she suffered from. Is anyone ever going to start examining why the basal ganglia takes so many hits? Why is it so vulnerable?
This kind of news plus the mysterious cluster of illnesses in upstate NY make a mockery of neurological sciences . I wonder if they first told this girl's parents that she was hysterical.
