Default Death in the Family

The NeuroWriters and Parkinsons Creative Collective are sad to inform the friends of Bob (rcbandido) Cummings of his death on April 7, 2012. Bob’s loss is deeply felt by all of us who knew him and his contribution to the cause of the Parkinson community will continue to resonate for a long time to come.

Bob was our Peripatetic Papa (his own definition of his role), the one who kept us on task working on “the Book” with his determination, creativity and incredible sense of humor -- but most of all, he was our friend.

Default A gentle lion

He was quiet, except when the group needed him not to be. He was gruff occasionally, but never unkind. He knew everyone and just about everything. He was courageous and he inspired courage. I didn't know him as well as the rest of the group, but I am honored to have worked a little with such a high quality person. I miss him, too.

There are some people who simply stand out, because of who they are. Bob was one of these people. He became a good friend. He had courage. He had humour. He taught me how to live with PD. I am going to miss him more than I can say.

I'm so sorry to hear this news - Bob's presence was always so encouraging. His voice will be missed.
