Only one out of five was tested positive?(!) If the other four did not get PD, what else did they get?

Best part is the only guy who did not have PD was on the verge of getting DBS.

Do you see what these case studies are saying? To qualify for DBS one needs to have proven response to levodopa, motor fluctuations, and dyskinesia. This means that a drug response/tolerance and dyskinesias occur in people without degenerative disease. Why is it again the scan is only used in atypical cases?

I thought I had DaTscan to rule out PD as I had a collection of symptoms which were mild and possibly explained by other things. Walking, balance and speech problems, cognitive, no left arm swing, stare, recent intermittent tremor. Started on Azilect ten days ago which has helped worsening speech and tremor. Still skeptical about all this as my symptoms seem to fluctuate but recently more acute in some respects. Had radiologist confirm finding to neuro but they don't grade severity or stage, just tell you whether you have PD or not. They say I have it, as does neuro. Posted my brain in album for your viewing pleasure. See MDS in December for second opinion.
