Soccertese, of course this is not rocket science. I also have no idea who this guy is and whether he is reliable. But whenever I find any evidence of gou teng possibly leading to improved life of quality, I just gather it in this thread. This is all I can do. For real rocket science results, I guess we have to wait on the results of the Hong Kong university.

I found some articles about gou teng that might be of interest:
http://libir.tmu.edu.tw/bitstream/98...416/2/38-2.pdf http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ecam/2012/802625/ http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22113202 --> Alpha synuclein in PD The strange thing is that I didn't find much of it, until I started to search for Uncaria Rhynchophylla in Alzheimer disease. |

Soccertese, I respect the fact that you wouldn't post this. But I am not you. I have different perspective of viewing at things. I see information that I consider as possibly interesting and I post them on the forum. People that read this information should determine themselve what they do based on this information. It is not up to me, nor up to you determine what people do with their lives.
Besides this, personaly I think you are overexagerating about the possible negative effects this herbal might have. Don't forget that this herbal has been used a treatment for parkinson in China for many centuries. So it's not like this will completely poison a person. I read threads here where people experimented with other things. I didn't read any complain from your side in those threads. So why are you so negative towards this thread ? Why didn't you say in those threads that the positive results of that person are encouraging other to buy that product, which science has not proven to be safe or effective ? If it makes you happy: TO ALL of you reading this thread, be aware that it is not scientifically proven that gou teng is both healthy and beneficial for PD patients. It could well be that it could harm you. So if you plan to take this herbal, be aware that it can harm you. |

Just a reminder that these forums are for open sharing of information, so there is no rule about exclusion of info just because it is not "scientific". Anecdotal reports are always allowed, and we do assume members will heed the disclaimer on all of the pages here

i understand the guidelines for posting here. your're free to post anecdotal info, i just wouldn't do it unless i knew the person who took the supp, i personally don't think an anecdote from an anonymous poster who has posted one time on another message board is trustworthy enough to repeat. there's guidelines and there is common sense. |
