Thumbs up Carotenoids Needed in diet

How many of you eat orange vegies and Fruits???

People with PD need the beta -carotene to prevent the build-up of protein aggregates found in PD/Lewy Body disease and MSA (multiple system atropy)
SOURCES: pumpkins, sweet potatoes, orange, yellow and red bell peppers, carrots, acorn squash, and apricots.
Studies show these foods high in beta-carotene are low in fats. Fats are needed to make them work better .....avacodo, olive oil, sunflower oil, nuts and nut butters should be eaten in combination with these wonderful orange treasures.

Aunt Bean CRAVES pumpkins and sweet potatoes. I eat a large sweet potato daily and usually have a pumkin and sweet potato pie in the fridge (healthy one made with stevia tea, not sugar) A favorite meal is green beans, sweet potato and a gluten free muffin....finished off with a large spoonful of peanut butter while doing the dishes. Always thought I was crazy craving peanut butter,
but, my body has been good about telling me what it needs...and usually it is right. Anyway, I am healthier now then I have ever been! Just worked 2 days harvesting sweet potatoes...alot of work, but at todays prices (99cents per pound not organic/organic is usually $1.66 lb ) I have enough sweet potatoes,
I hope , to last me til next fall and they didn't cost me a cent (except to have fields plowed) Healthy/ cheap/ and it gives you a good feeling to have grown your own food...plus the exercize and sunshine help PD too!
