Mirapex Mountain Bike-o-Thon

Peg,
I find that to get away from the gambling and the risk-taking, the best thing is physical exercise. Every year I join the Mirapex Mountain Bike-a-thon to raise money for those who cannot afford agonists. And at the same time, we demonstrate that we can have fun in activities that do not involve risk-taking or danger, such as simply riding a mountain bicycle. Very good for your health. Here’s a photo of me in last year’s Mirapex Challenge:

Bob - dearest Bob - "exactly" is a mighty strong word, but only you would.

I knew apathy wasn't quite the right word - I don't think there is one. I believe it can be defined as: "I'm pretty $#@!&* sick of this disease!" Is there a word fore that emotion?

Greg - I tried amantadine twice, and guess what? It works! My dyskinesias were almost nil, (although I understand it is a temporary fix)then after about 3-4 weeks I get horrible edema of lower extremities (especially feet) and horrendous leg/foot pain. I have enough pain. If only we could find a way around substituting one symptom for another. . . or is that one pill for another symptom?

Yes, Bob; you are correct - it IS indifference. a euphemism for "hate"' might work!

i'm taking american ginseng, natures way, from iherb, 550mg 50caps. it is a mild, short lasting affect. relatively expensive so take only 2caps/day rather than recommended twice a day

What symptom is temporarily relieved? Tremor, freezing or dyskinesia? I am at a wole foods and found only one American ginseng and you're right, it's pricey. I am looking specifically to fight tremors. I am shopping and happened to read your post while going down the supplement aisles.

it gives me a little more energy, clarity of thought. i have no tremor so can't comment on that and it doesn't help my major physical symptom which is rigidity.
it's something i can take it or leave it, some research in mice showed ginsing gave neuroprotection. but i certainly could live without it. i only mentioned it because of the mental "boost" and maybe it might have a greater benefit for others, or none at all.

Well, I now have my thanksgiving turkey and some American ginseng. No wine sold before noon, or I would have that too. Will give the ginseng a try, thanks.

for general info

There are three ginsengs available. There is red chinese which is processed by steaming and is supposed to be the strongest. It might worsen a tremor, BTW.
Second is the American variety which is a gentler cousin. And there is the Russian which is not a true gensing at all. All are considered adaptogenic which means they enhance one's ability to, well, adapt.

I have a small patch of American growing just outside my window as I write. Originally plannned to retire on it. It is a lot harder to grow than it looks! :D

i honestly don't but due to cannabis shortly being legalized in washington state most law enforcement is no longer arresting anyone engaging in casual use.

so might be able to obtain it from friends in washington and colorado if the federal govt. doesn't fight the initiatives.

Soccer these

Before I get arrested, I was just kidding (sort of) ! I have heard tat it really helps with pain management, but I have never smoked. Wouldn't it irritate the mucosal lining of the esophagus and cause another set of problems?

We need to formulate a spreadsheet identifying potential therapies and rate or at least list side effects or pros & cons. My guess is that someone here has already done this!
