Thumbs up Forbes Mag seeking patient input on PD

From Forbes Magazine writer Matthew Herper:

"I’ll be writing more about the Fox Foundation and about patient advocacy in the coming months. Send me your thoughts, suggestions, and ideas!"

love this quote from MJF, to paraphrase, "kind of started a type of business that differs in it's goal is to go out of business".

Default I don't enjoy being cynical, however......

I am pretty certain that health maintenance is just a self-perpetuating state whereby people's lives are continued beyond their natural end for jobs and profits. Nobody who has invested a life's learning in health care, and makes a good living from it wants to kill the conditions which lay the golden eggs. Only idealists, who suffer from a certain disease fight hard for its eradication. Only those with a vested interest in a cure for what ails them, want true "prevent ions and cures for the myriad diseases of humankind.. Remember, death has no cure, so why not concentrate on making our lives that we do have just plain happier and more comfortable with less stress for all?

That is surely the truth...who wants to cure something that they make money treating symptoms for..self-defeating. But together, we will be the ones who find out what works....if a doctor comes down with PD and is "one of us" , then they have a true interest in finding a cure. Most of them would not take the drugs they prescribe on a daily basis for others. WE HAVE TO BE OUR OWN ADVOCATES, we have to do the research and take responsibility for our own lives....which includes eating right and exercise .....it is not the time to procrastinate...it is a new year...let's get out there and change the world!
