Has anyone heard of the dopamine agonist?

Apokinon is also known as apomorphine, and is very short lived, and usually delivered by either injection or a delivery system somewhat like those used for diabetes. Used in the later stages of PD when options are fewer. The UK jazz musician Barbarba Thompson uses it to enable her to continue to perform.

There is a tv film about her, made by the BBC, called "Playing Against Time", but I have been unable to find a working link, perhaps someone else will have this, it tells how she uses apomorphine.

In spite of it's name it is not related to morphine.

It is sometimes used as a 'challenge' drug, useful in the diagnosis of PD when other means have been exhausted.
