Default What a day!

Oh lord, we have had a hard day. My poor dad with Parkinson's disease with dementia or shy-dragers took all of his three daily doses of medication all at once this morning. We have been at the emergency room all day. He is so out of it. Poor guy can't even figure out how to turn on the TV by himself.
He was taking his meds just fine. We had them all split up into morning, afternoon, evening and night containers and an alarm that goes off when he needs to take them. Now, just today he for some reason got confused and completely overdosed. I assume he is going to be feeling real bad soon as all his meds will wear off and they told us not to give him anymore until his regular dose again tomorrow. We are lucky it did not kill him. So stressful.
We are going to give him his medication now. So grateful he is ok. Hope you are all doing well.
Much love,
Brain

So very scary! I did that with one medication- was switching dosage levels and thought I had the lower 2 mg dosage so I popped 3 of them. Well it was the new higher dosage at 6 mg, so that was my whole day in one pop. Talk about sick...

Glad you are all doing better and sounds like you have a really good attitude.

Thank you both. Yes, we will be giving meds to him now. He was taking them just fine with the case we had and alarm system but he has gotten worse very fast and we did not realize. It was our fault. He is doing ok today. I went in very early and gave him his morning dose. I know he is gonna be hurting. This disease takes you by surprise at times. One day is good the next things change. We will watch it much closer now.
I am honored to be the one that he comes to when he needs help or comfort. He knows I will not yell or say why did you do that. I feel his sweet spirit still and I know he feels mine. I have so much love for him and unlimited patience. I know what it feels like to not be able to remember things. People who don't have a hard time understanding. It was his birthday the other day and I got held up and asked my sister to pick him up and we would meet at the restaurant. Well he wanted to ride with me. So I went back and got him. Sister was upset but he trusts me and is comfortable with me and I am honored. He has been such a great father to me. I am glad that I can pay it back in some small way.
