For Cecil
I made a solemn vow, in the dark, standing between you and the stream; I decided right then and there, that you would be heard. This thread is for you. You left the kitchen door open and the wind bent it from its frame. You opened a door that can never be closed again. Something good will come this way. If not today, Then maybe tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow. Bob |

Any news about the pump? It is getting harder and harder to build my best friends feelings up. She what's this so bad. She keeps on saying it will never happen. I was telling her about all the positive news on this site but she is getting more depressed. I asked her doctor if there was any news, but he dose not like the pump, and I find it funny because he is very involved with many Parkinson's testing at the u of Penna. and he turned it down to test. Please let me know what you think.
Thanks Dina |

I have not heard a word about yesterday’s Parkinson’s Unity Walk in Central Park in NYC, so I assume that a jolly good time was had by all and and there was no product launch and no questions were asked at the AbbVie booth.
It’s what scientists call “Parkinson’s apathy” or “Parkinson’s lethargy”; it goes together with the face becoming a mask. The silence of the lambs. |

Bob, I went to Canada, where at least the Government bargins with the drug companies. In the states, things are every so much worse, because the pharma companies are in cahoots with goverment and pay for much of our elections. Transparancy in cost, effectiveness, evidently isn't in there adgenda. My medications in Canada, were resonable, down here, some so expensive, there is no hope I could afford them. Insuance also will not pay for them. I think it is this way with all medications, especially ones that are life saving. I sure wish things could be different. You who suffer with PD should have the opportunity to try these meds that could help you. ginnie

So Parkinson’s awareness month is over, and what are you aware of today that you were not aware of a month ago?
Hey, I hear that Duodopa has been fast-tracked and will be available in 6 months! Isn’t that great news! And those lawsuits launched by AbbVie to suffocate information about their research? Well they don’t want another situation like Depakote, where the studies showing the drug was useless somehow got sneaked out to the public after being hidden for four years, and then some court declared it to be criminal, and so on. I mean, really, such a fuss and bother just because the medical evidence was deliberately falsified, and some nasty judge declared it was criminal and they had to pay a $500 million fine to criminal court, which of course drives up the price of the drug. Well none of that will happen to People with Parkinson’s, because we made AbbVie our good true friend and Proud Partner. Now take your pill, sit in the chair, and stare at the wall. You have had more than enough Parkinson’s Awareness to last you until next April. |
