Default EFT for Symptoms

Hi all,

Has anyone heard of EFT for tremor and other symptoms.

I have read about the patient mentioned in the article below on some sites.
However, I have not seen the actual video so I don't know if it actually works. Has anyone tried EFT before?

Thanks,

Shar

bubblyshar-

Yes, I am familiar with "Emotional Freedom Technique" and have used it a good deal through the graces of my wife who has studied it at some length. My feeling is that it has been of great value to me. It is worth exploring via YouTube clips and self-experiment. Unless you are a real nutter (that is a technical term) it really can't harm you and it really has a lot of potential, especially for those like me who were born with a broomstick up our butts and prefer our therapy alone, in the dark, and with the blinds drawn.

Basically, it is a matter of giving yourself a good talking to in a free association manner and the louder the better. Get it all out! Tell yo' Mama that she was a 'Ho! Tell your Daddy that you only regret his death of a few years back because it prevents you from shooting him! And tell your own sorry self that this PD business in more than it appears to be.

Because it is. A certain amount of our shared curse is psychogenic - we create it. That doesn't mean that it is not real. Far from it. But it may be that that stiffness of your muscles began decades ago as a genuine fear of being forced to do something. Same with that tremor and many of our other symptoms. There are a lot of people on our individual busses and most of them are unseen.

I will give you one example. My wife had a lifelong reaction to the smell of petroleum - nausea and vomiting. My wife's father was a rageaholic that the world kicked around and so he would come home from his job as an auto mechanic and blast his family with his bitterness. The first time that she tried EFT the pieces clicked into place and she has had no problem with the odor since. Simple! Unless you are a young woman trying to put gas in your car without hurling.

PWP respond to placebo at a rate double that of the general population. Why? In our less guarded moments on this forum, many of us have admitted to a need to just be held and comforted. That fact has meaning. There are four basic reactions open to an animal facing danger - fight, flight, freeze, or faint. For just a moment, look at our symptoms as a desperate attempt by one of those poor, beautiful creatures to communicate with us. To warn us of a threat that vanished fifty years ago. But he didn't get the memo. Among other things, EFT is a way of getting the memo into his hands. So that he can rest and just be.

Try it. You may be surprised.

EFT began as an effort in the 1990s by an engineering type named Gary (I forget his last name but everyone calls him "Gary") to sort through the New Age Nuttiness and find what works and to throw away the rest. Eventually Gary lost control and these days the field is host to a quiet, tight-lipped struggle between various groups and individual psychologists over who has the rights to make a buck off it.

Default very powerful therapy

pretty amazing how well EFT works - don't know why it works but it just does. My problem is being disciplined enough to stay with it - somethiing in me resists the simplicity of it but subtle therapies are truly elegant - Nick Ortners' book "The Tapping Solution" hit the NYT best seller list.

Grace comes in so many ways if we would only just allow it....

I found EFT info in 1999 and used it a bit for my RSI symptoms, amazingly it did help a lot. I didn't do any of the chanting or talking, just the tapping part.

There used to be a free pdf file you could download with basic self starter info , but here is the page with most of that info-
