Hi
Further to a recent post a quick update. I have been taking Sinemet 62.5g three times a day for a few months and feeling much better. Not 100% but a great improvement. My body doesn't feel as stiff, I seem to have more omph/energy and don't have the extreme tiredness. I can almost run where I was too stiff in the past to lift my legs.I wouldn't say back to normal but 70% improvement My neurologist (Parkinson's specialist) sent a letter to my family Doctor stating suspected muscle dystonia( but that was only a small part of my original symtoms. My feet would cramp walking or driving the car and hands would tighten if gripping somethin for too long. These still happen but less frequently and not as intense. I would also have internal vibrations and random hot spots mainly under my shoulder blade. (quite painful!) One other thing that is still with me is that my arm feels like a blood pressure cuff is squeezing pretty hard then eases off after about 20 seconds. This happens a few times a day but now less intense/frequent and feels like pins and needles from my upper arm to mid way down my forearm.. The shoulder on the same side still aches but again has improved. However, this has got me thinking that due to these positive changes with sinemet would this suggest PD is lurking in the background? I will be seeing my Neurologist in November as an outpatient at his Parkinson's clinic. Hmm. Many thanks. |

The more I read about PD the more I realize how different are the symptoms from person to person.
This would probably lead me to conclude that there are many different underlying causes. It would also explain why no cure has been found after all these years and millions of dollars spent on drugs development. |
