this is only going to get worse as representatives face tougher and tougher 2 year terms to get reelected with unlimited corporate, private money being used against them with primary challenges from their own party, totally negating the popular vote.
then you have the gerrymandering after the last election creating tea party bastions, and now laws making it harder to vote. washington state went to 100% mail in ballots.
i think germany spent $30million in their last election?

the house has enough votes to pass the continuing resolution, but the leadership has a rule that won't allow it to come to the floor for a vote called the "HASKER"(?) rule?
just insane.

public funding of elections might attract more reasonable people as would extending representative terms to 4 years so they wouldn't have to be full time campaigners and have to raise so much money. the founding fathers never anticipated a time when the ease and cheapness in which misinformation can spread and the huge cost to get the truth out.

i'm done. soapbox just broke.
