I am very anxious about this study. The therapy, GDNF, is a growth factor that has been shown to keep the neurons alive and well.
The GDNF is a molecule too large to get past the blood brain barrier. This is one of several studies testing different methods of delivery. Another mentioned in this forum is delivery by virial vector. Keep fingers crossed. Peg |
