Default More about DBS

Here's a question I don't thinl I've seen addressed about DBS. Would you say there is any negative side effects similar to the drugs you take or took? Such as the overwheming desire for addictive behaviors ie shoppng, drinking, gambling, sex? Or feeling of depression?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Default Hi Nor Cal Gal

It has been a known the Bilateral DBS will affect your mood. That is why a Pschological Testing is part of the evaluation process. Also, many people who have DBS surgery have difficulties with their speech which is usually helped by voice therapy. Both symptoms usually lesson as time after surgery passes.

Your evaluation team will go over all these possibilities with you so listen to the team. You are the final person who can make the final decision.

Best Regards,
Vicky
