I'm currently using Neupro 2mg patches, escaping from Requip's side effects.
2mg is the only size I saw so far, and I'm curious. Do the other dosages have a different formulation or only proportionally larger area? Thinking of asking my Dr to prescribe 6 or 8 mg patches, which I can trim down. (Lost the ability I had with requip pills to easily change the dosage.) I found a couple of reports in this forum from people that did that with no problems. Is there anybody that cut the patches and run into trouble? Rob. |

glad neupro is helping, i couldn't tolerate mirapex so went on carbidopa/levodopa and am now after 7-8 years have wearing off problems so having to decide what the next drug to add will be and neupro looks attractive but the cost is prohibitive and i don't want to start a drug i can't afford after free samples are gone and mfg rebates end.
if you read the trial where they compared requip against neupro, requip was about equal i believe, but those trials don't really capture the side affects that well. i've read that the one big mistake people make with agonists is they don't give them enough time and don't take enough but i should talk, i bailed on mirapex at i think less than 4.5mg a day and requip was a little worse in side affects so i didn't give them much of a chance but with C/L working so well for me it was a no brainer to go with that and it still works well except for wearing off too soon. |

Rob, I have gone from 2 to 4 to 6 and each dosage has gotten proportionately larger. be 6 mg patch that I'm wearing now is 2 in.². The 2 mg patch is 1 1/4 in.². I don't have a left over 4 milligram patch hanging around. I only cut the coaches when I was going from one coast to another and wanted to use up the leftovers since they are so expensive. So when I was moving from 4 to 6 I used a 4 and 1/2 of another four, then did the same thing the next day, thereby using 3 4 mg patches to last two days. I would not recommend getting a six or eight and cutting them up.
