Default Home telehealth helps specialists reach Parkinson’s patients

Although this may never replace direct contact with doctors, today's technology is definitely going to be of great assistance. Telehealth will be a great benefit to those who are unable to travel or don't live near large city medical centers. Now, if only insurance companies would catch up and cover the "tele-visits", the use of it will advance.

“Virtual house calls” over consumer-grade webcams and mobile devices have great potential to improve the care of patients with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders, new research has shown, but the lingering issues of reimbursement and physician licensure continue to hinder growth of remote consultations.
