I'm not sure the direction to go. I didn't like my neurologist. I live in Alaska so the choices are limited. ... Quote All things Parkie in Alaska appear sooner or later in Peter Dunlap-Shohl's Alaska Parkinson's Rag: http://offandonakpdrag.blogspot.com/ As he says himself, Beyond the "Experimental" Phase Into the "Confirmed Whacko" phase. |

find another neuro but to be honest they have to be competent, not likeable and there is a shortage, you need them, they don't need you. so knowledge is key with pd, you are quite ignorant about pd, i suggest you order the book i recommended and study up. |

Diagnosis of PD is not a fine art. Medicine is getting there, and there are scans for those who have deficiency of dopamine stemming from the Substantia Nigra. But here could be deficiency from other places, and there are conditions that look like PD, parkinsonisms, and several others. If you do not have the classic signs diagnosis could take years. Closure ain't what many of us get.
If you are doing ok and your symptoms are not troubling you get on with your life, do the things you want to do. And more if you can, exercise and live. Waiting for a PD diagnosis could be like a small death if you don't. Oh and go easy on the meds. Less is more. Really. |

Bulking up on every type of insurance you can get, BEFORE YOU SAY ANOTHER WORD TO ANYONE ABOUT YOUR SYMPTOMS, cause if an insurance company gets the news via your doctor, then you will be considered uninsurable cause of "pre-existing conditions".l
