Default Parkinson's Day of Action Feb.26, 2014

On Wednesday, February 26, between 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET, Parkinson’s leaders from across the country will be on Capitol Hill. Voice your support for Parkinson’s research and services by calling Congress on February 26! It is simple, just a phone call can make a difference. Capitol Hill reacts to numbers, the squeaky wheel gets the dollars. Tell family members and friends to support you by also calling. See the attached flyer from PAN with easy instructions.

I heard this joke at a local science café presentation on how synapses in the brain work…

A liver cell walks into a bar and orders a gin and tonic. The bartender says with a sneer, "We don't serve liver cells here." The liver cell replies: "Oh, yeah? Well, what about that cell over there?" and points to a neuron lounging on a bar stool nearby. Says the bartender: "What about her? That's a brain cell. She's got connections." (orig. Kyle Kirkland)

Don’t forget tomorrow Wednesday, February 26, 2014 is Parkinson’s Day of Action. Use your brain cells and make connections with our leaders in Washington!

CALL CONGRESS TODAY

I made my calls to Congress, asking for Parkinson’s disease support. It was quick, easy and the congressional staff members that I spoke with were very courteous. I thanked my one senator who is part of the Congressional Caucus for Parkinson’s and asked my other senator, who is not, to join.

Please call, numbers count in Washington!
