Its 6 years that i have been diagnosed and from the beginning i heard people talking about PD in this way and explaining that it is the likely reason some people may do well in a clinical trial while others have little benefit from the same treatment. Perhaps the continual advances in genetic typing will solve this quite soon, Im optimistic.

It's a tough issue. At least MJFF has tackled the problem with their longitudinal Parkinson's Progressive Markers Initiative (PPMI). They've invested 50 million+ around the world to carefully collect biological evidence from hundreds of trial participants to track disease progression over 5 years. The data collected is available to any investigator who wants it. Something about the true nature of Parkinsonisms will surely emerge. Until targetable biomarkers are discovered, clinical trials will continue to miss the mark.
