Default Plants containing levodopa

In an article published in India 11 years ago by Ingle [1] is a long table showing plants which contain levodopa, the part of the plant, and the concentration of levodopa.

Ingle concludes:
"The presence of L-Dopa, which was previously thought available only in Mucuna and Vicia is also isolated from many other plants beyond these two genera [, such as] Phanera, Pileostigma, Cassia, Canavalia, Dalbergia".

Of those listed, mucuna gigantea is found in Hawaii, cassia is cinnamon (which has had many mentions in this forum).

Similar ground is covered in [2].

Perhaps we need to mount a botanical expedition!

Default astragalus on the list for containing LD

Astragalus is commonly used in combination w/ garlic, vitamins C & E for immune support. This can be taken over a long period of time and i find interesting that astragalus contains LD. Given the common beneficial reaction pders have to aspirin it would seem like turmeric , astragalus could prove to assist sinemet uptake by providing constituents that nature designs for crossing bbb and can be taken over a long period of time as astragalus is adaptogenic (unlike say echinacea which should only be used over a short term).
