Default Joining a group

How does a person join a group? Is it possible to receive an e-mail when there's a post to that group? I tried to find the answer on the site first but could not. Thank you.

What kind of group are you asking about?

You can subscribe to forums or threads and set up email notifications in the UserCP.
Our site FAQs should be helpful for most of that information.
