Default Quantified Self and PD video presentation

My good friend Kevin (ambassador to WPC and fellow RockSteadyBoxing SF trainee) has posted his 8min video update on his PD experience and treatments as part of the wearable technology and Quantified Self "movement". Very interesting for us techies...

His slides are here:

Good video!

It would be good if us techies got together.

I'm looking at measuring, 24/7, skin conductivity. This uses an Arduino board to take measurements every second and stores the data on a micro-SD card from where it can be downloaded on to a PC for further processing.

One trick that will shorten the time it takes to validate such methods is to note that taking levodopa leads to a 3 or 4 times a day cycle of improving and worsening performance. Any measure must exhibit similar behaviour.

And the big thing is once you can measure something you're a large part of the way to being able to control it. For instance, measuring the electrical signals that cause tremor and reversing them should help reduce the tremor.

Default Hi Kevin!

Hey, I finally found Kevin again! We met at The World Parkinson Congress last October in Montreal. He hadn't been diagnosed very long, but I am so touched by how he has been empowered!

Please ask Kevin to read this post. I need to call, but it's so difficult when you're 3 hours time difference. But man, Kevin is talking with such confidence. He knows how to manage his illness now.
Hi, Kevin! Let's talk! Sandra is Aunt Bean on this forum.
