Not too long ago I sold high end computing servers for technical and scientific markets. Racks of servers consume lots of electrical power and require heavy duty aircon and systems are not cheap. Then there's real estate housing and an IT guy to maintain it all. So $1K per week to run data crunching seems reasonable!
