Default juicing, gut health, and our microbiome

Has anyone tried serious juicing, and if so, with what results? We just watched the movie "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" and while the guy did not have PD, he did experience a pretty amazing transformation, both inside and out, from juicing for 60 days. So did another guy who got into juicing.

I have been reading about how incredibly fast our gut microbiome can adapt to the foods we eat, as in, DAYS of a dietary change! And it is not placebo, they have actually taken measurements and there are changes when one switches from a typical crap diet to a healthy one (and probably vice versa). I was pretty amazed to read that the microbes in our gut can actually make us crave certain food-so they are manipulating us! Is that not creepy? I am now trying to get into the mindset of feeding our family foods that make the healthy gut bacteria happy, so they make us feel good, as opposed to feeding the unhealthy gut bacteria, which take control and dominate the healthy guys, and make us feel not as good. Juicing is one way to really cram in a lot of nutrition since not many people could eat that many fruits and vegetables in a day, at least probably not without some unpleasant side effects....

This gets into epigenetics, as genes can be turned off and on by food we eat (or don't eat). It is a fascinating field and consuming, ha, ha.

Given that they have found misfolded alpha synuclein in the gut of people who later went on to have PD, I think that there may be something to the early theory that PD starts in our guts.

We're not doing mostly fruit juices, but ones that are predominantly veggies with an apple as a base, things like that. I will say the juices make the most incredible colors, I had no idea kale was such a vivid green! And the beets and carrots, talk about pure color, it is a visual treat to have one of these juices in addition to being delicious.

Just wondering if anyone has already traveled down the juicing route, and if so, how it worked.
