I was on the neupro patch 4mg per day. I started with 1 mg and increased slowly to 4mg. The side effects confusion, tiredness, lack of sleep and a general overall feeling lousy forced me first to quit. I think it made my symptom worse. I never had dyskinesias .. prior to DBS I had little if any tremor which had been dominant for the first 12 years. For me this drug (also for RLS) was a disaster. Requip can make one very compulsive. Maybe it was my high level of carbo/levo that added to the intolerance. It is very expensive and should be started at a low dose. Damon |

I was also on 21 25/100 sinemet per day and 3 50/200 sinemet. You should consult with your MDS before weening off. Requip is known to increase compulsivity so be watchful of this. I dropped the dosage down to 2mg every other day and 4 mg (2,4,2,4,2,4 2,4.......2,2,2,2,222. You can cut the patch in half. If you are not having side effects and are not taking large doses of sinemet your MDS may keep you on it.
