Thanks, soccertese. Very interesting. Noni (the popular name for Morinda citrifolia fruit) juice was being sold widely as a cure-all health supplement (weight loss, energy, you name it!) when I was living in South America in the early 2000s. I am very skeptical of these cure-alls (too good to be true).
Up to 750ml of noni juice per day was found to be clinically safe in this trial: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20443518. I read a few reports that it has caused hepatitis in some people, but couldn't find a study about this. (Sounds like caution is warranted, though.) I googled a bit and found some claims that it can ease tremors of Parkinson's. Who knows!
