Default Males & Mirapex

I was looking at the drug Mfg spec sheet on Mirapex and one of the side effects was noted as possible "sexual urges increase". URGES ??? Are they crazy ?????????? It hit me like full time mating season. Not too much fun when you're 73 years old and been slowing down last couple of years. When my wife is around, she's like a deer in the head lights ready to run in any direction if I approached.

Has any other male on site experienced similar side effects? If so, what drug did they switch you to?

Hi Harry,
Have been waiting for someone else to answer this question but seeing its not been answered I thought I'd add its not just men the dopamine agonists affect with regards to increased libido!
In this weeks newspaper a few people had a strong case against Cabaser and Permax manufacturers and won (I think they won will go and check after I send this message.)
Does anyone yourself of course included find they benefit from agonists?
Personally I'd like to see them stop being sold at all due to the side effects they and other agonists cause.

I think it may cause overall compulsions too, not only sex..gambling, worrying...somewhat obsessive/compulsive..

When on a higher dose, my dad would get fixated/anxious about very minor things like the car registration/tags being due or possibility of a fire or some other emergency, checking & rechecking door locks...hallucinations..

After a short test time- totally off the M, we/dr added a very small dose back - as without it dad was nearly immobile in his recliner & very weak in his legs with much fatigue.. Dr also took him off the Vesicare as that may have played a part in the downhill slide..combined w/the Mirapex..
Using a older urological med now with much less side effects..

Now he is back at a much better state, but it took a couple of months to get it all balanced back to where he can be more mobile with some energy again.

Sometimes all you can do is try /test other meds and combos, it may work for you or not..sometimes just a much smaller dose is all that is needed..
