Default Good news, bad news

After reading the company precautions on rytary, I wonder how many will qualify to take this drug. Not my wife who has had PD for 13 years and has very serious hallucinations.

read the insert for carbidopa/levodopa, likely very similar warnings.

if water came with a FDA required insert we likely wouldn't drink it.

will be very expensive.

Default parkinson's disease foundation video on rytary release

imho not much of an endorsement, they think it will cost $9/day or similar to stalevo

I was on an analyst call with the company. They still haven't release pricing information but some are predicting as high as $12/day. It will be interesting to see what the health insurers do in terms of coverage. Wouldn't be surprised to see some refuse to cover the drug.

i know advanced pd'ers on generic requip, stalevo and amantadine. if you can take rytary and eliminate the amantadine and/or requip, then insco's would go for it.
$9 is similar to stalevo's price and you eliminate COMTAN side affects and insco's pay for stalevo.

whether a patient wants to wean off of an agonist is a big decision imho.

wonder if impax will conduct some trial on that switchover?

supposed to be superior but they didn't test it against 50/200CR or stalevo.

FRom what I can tell the 50/200 doesn't work all that well. My MDS states she has seen that in many patients
