Default Botox and Rytary

Hi Forum
I did not know there was a limit on the amount of words as I was cut off.
I will keep it simple:

I had DBS with great results last July..I can walk again.
Was on 2700 mg of carbo/levo instant and Cr and 8 comtan
Currently on 1300mg of carbo/levo
paranoid psychosis gone since Sept 2014

Currently experiencing
foot and leg tightening when stressed or low level of carbo/levo
MDS says it is dystonia and they will treat it with botox starting easy

Rytary
Will not prescribe does not understand how conversion of to total dose of levodopa in instant release equal or greater than 1250mg equates total daily of
of levodopa in rytary 2205mg.

Has anyone had experience with tightening of feet an calves alone or together?

All comments appreciated

There's a general rule of 2 to 1, twice as many MGs of Rytary as regular C/L/ Not sure just what my MDS said. And he was involved in Rytary Clinical trials and helped Impax and the FDA develop the dosing recommendations. You can go to the Rytary website (Google it) and maybe get an answer there or they have a "contact us" link and you can ask. I've been on Rytary for almost 2 months.

Thank you slumpy. I still do not understand why it would be twice as much of the same medication. There is no logic to it.
Appreciate your reply, is it working well as expected. Are you satisfied with your current dosage vs your dosage on instant release?

you have to take more controlled release C/L than the immediate release since i assume less gets into your blood. not sure what the ratio is, could be as high as 1.5x

a 50/200CR C/L at least for me is barely equal to a 100mg /CL and i assume rytary is even less bioavailable than CR so the 2:1 ratio might make sense.
