brain surgery is easy for the patient!! Tell them if you feel any pain at all!!!
And has been mentioned by Olson, WASH YOUR HANDS everytime you pass a sink! Big hug for my buddy Carolyn!! Ron and Teresa: Remember the Lotus 49??Now there were racecars!! You could stick your nose right on someones gearbox and pass them! Now the cars are so aero-dependant, the only way to pass is to slipstream by on the straight away. Safety has come along ways, as evidenced by Robert Kubica's horrific shunt at the Canadian GP. I too have a bad shoulder, it (hopefully) will respond to PT. I know what a pain in the ***** it can be!! They took a bonechip, a piece of loose cartilage, and smoothed several spurs during a "scope" procedure on May 10. it still hurts like a son of a gun!! This too shall pass! Ron; have you considered a DBS?? Charlie |

i turned 47 last week ha! made it this far, didn't i? not without my share of bump and scrapes of course other than my budding pd symptoms i'm in excellent physical shape. i must admitt, the pd scares me. it changes and some part of it always seems to be getting worse. pd isn't the first difficult thing i,ve had to deal with and it looks to me like it not something that gets triumphed over. i'm still coming toterms with it, yes the terms will keep changing because thats its nature. i think its about attitude, what i learnned here.
there is a whole bunch of good attitude, support, information, discussion and community here at braintalk and i'm gratfeful for it. i go to the monthly pd group that meets here in town but its slow going getting to know folks. the few, fewer than 6, pwp under 50 dont come to the meetings. i work, have a wife, and a soon to be 5 year old daughter, soo, i'll just do whats in front of me. thanks Last edited by oyster; 06-19-2007 at 08:16 AM. Remember me, I used to post on brain talk as Eve. I haven't posted in quite some time, I kind of went on my way as if I didn't have P.D. I have been trying to live like everything is fine but it really isn't. My symptoms are progressing and I now take my meds 4 times a day. I found I had to take them closer together to avoid end of dose dystonia. Lots of fun trying to keep up with this disease. I've also tried to come off of the Antidepressants twice but both times fell into the big, black hole after about 4 to 6 weeks off of them. Despite the rough patches I have a lot to be thankful for. I have a wonderful 3 year old grandson and another grandchild on the way.
Steve you sound like you are having some troubles but dealing with them. We both started out on this forum around the same time about 4 years ago. Its good to read the posts from some familiar names, its comforting to know that you are all still here. |

Welcome back, Evon! I happened to log on right after you posted, so I have the privilege of responding first. Steve will chime in and add his welcome soon, I know. We are all here to support one another and I know you will be glad you returned to this forum. As Steve usually says, grab an oar and start paddling! We are all in the same boat.

Eve!!..Ive been wondering where you've been!..I try to go on like I dont have pd sometimes too, but about half way through everyday I get fatigued and knocked on my butt..*subliminal reminder*.. ..Ive had a couple of set backs with my back troubles, and stepped on a couple of rusty nails a month ago..The Chiropractor straightened me out, but my foot still hurts when I stand on it too long..The Dr said to expect that, something about scar tissue or something?.. ..Anyway I have no complaints, and just grateful for what I can do Eve..Have you tried Sinamet yet?..If I recall you were taking Requip? Robert..The "grab an oar" quote was Rosebud's..I kinda hi-jacked it..
