I don't know if this is relevant, but on my recent trip to NIH as part of the Parkinson's Study Group I had a 3 Tesla MRI followed the next day by a 7 Tesla MRI. The PI found something of concern on and STRONGLY recommended that I have a Contrast MRI asap, but since the anomaly was not part of their study parameters, I needed to fly home to get it. The following day I flew to Seattle and had the contrast MRI that afternoon. The radiologist said there was nothing to be concerned about. (It was a LONG flight!) I now have the NIH interpretations plus a CD of my MRIs to give to my doctor here. Of course I can't interpret the MRIs, but it is fascinating to see my brain in 3D.

I'm happy they are finding relevant information in the 7 Tesla. Hopefully this will all lead somewhere helpful.
