Default Foggy after naps

Anyone have a problem with waking from a nap feeling foggy, almost "off"? It doesn't matter when I nap, whether it is a short 5 minute nap, or a 2 hour one; I have the same reaction. It usually takes 15-20 minutes to recover. Any answers or suggestions (other than don't go to sleep....sometimes that is not an option)?

Yes, I experience the same thing. My eyes are feeling 'heavy' as well.

I had heard previously a comment that sleeping actually makes things worse and that its better to stay active--which is counter-intuitive when you typically are borderline fatigued.

I see a sleep doctor specialist for my REM disorder. This week I told him about constantly feeling tired/weary and taking little 5-15 minute naps a few times each day. He told me that that actually makes me more tired, as Ralph reported above, and to force myself to not nap. The first two days were awful but by the third day I had little desire to nap and slept well all night with 2/3 the medication I had been taking. By day four I was fine without wanting to nap. Go figure.
