Default Are some of these stats a waste of resources ?

Just musing over some of the 'stats' that crop up in Parkinsonia now and again. You know the kind of thing,
You're less likely to get PD if you drink coffee.
You're less likely to get PD if you smoke.....WHOOPEE just cancer, heart disease and COPD to worry about !
You're more likely to get PD if you've got asthma.....if only I'd known.

I appreciate that every little clue helps but these things can only come from data analysis which can be easily misinterpreted. I'm a supporter of data analysis/stats but feel the resources behind this type of thing could be better
used.

Anyway I'v been doing some number crunching myself and have found that you are more likely to get PD if :

You lived in a cave and were brought up by wolves.
You had an aunt who had a moustache.
You prefer hoisin to plum sauce with aromatic duck.

Not sure my stats will contribute much except to hopefully lighten the mood on the forum.

My aunt had a 'tache like a mountain man and I'v got asthma....Id no chance !

Time for an espresso and a cigar.

Nigel
