Default L Dopa and macular degeneration

There are not a lot of side benefits to taking sinemet/dopamine, but one of them appears to be a diminishing of the odds of getting macular degeneration. Sounds good to me.

All I can say is that I have been taking L-dopa for about 27 years now, and my eye doctor told me on my last visit that I have Optic Nerve Drusen, which leads to AMD. She also found signs of AMD present. What can I say? The good news is that 'they' are close to a treatment that will effectively remove Drusen, and as a bonus that same treatment might also remove Lewy bodies which might contribute to Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's dementia and ALS.

Too late for me. I was diagnosed with Macular 20 years ago. I am struggling with low vision. I believe the PD has made my eyesight worse.;..double vision plus my eyes don't focus normally plus optical hallucinations.

I do fine handling the Parkinson's but life is extremely difficult due to low vision.
