Good morning all!
I am probably about to be diagnosed with PD and am feeling many of the things most here are dealing with; disbelief, depression, symptoms, how to handle the everyday things and still be "me." I have ready the many threads with interest and would like to know if anyone belongs to the group from Ohio. I'm assured by my neuro doc she will refer me to a MDS. Several people from my church and a family member have PD and they have been encouraging. One is steady on meds 10 years now; 2 have had DBS. I am trying to get some input into when to take meds, how to avoid the off times if possible, when to increase and not to increase etc. I seem to be responding to Sinemet which I'm told is the "gold standard." I certainly want to keep the dose low if possible. I have returned to upper body and lower body weight training (that's fun sometimes) and I was a consistent walker and attempting to do so again. Two weeks ago I could drive this week I cannot. I was taken off Azilect which I decided was doing more good than I thought and put on Sinemet. I get a feeling of support and long time relationships from this group. Thank you. Ellis |
