Default Microbiome Medicine Summit

I heard the most informative free webinar this morning at the following site.

http://microbiomemedicinesummit.com/

There are many fabulous speakers participating including David Perlmutter, Depak Chopra, Mark Hyman, Sayer Ji and Joseph Mercola to name some of the more famous names.

The lecture I heard was given by Dr. Martha Herbert, MD, PhD
Pediatric Neurologist and Brain Development Researcher who is a highly educated and respected scholar.
The topic is on "New Research to Improve Brain Function and Neurodevelopmental Degenerative Disorders"

There are many interesting and cutting edge ideas in this talk- including how sleep uniquely provides an opportunity for the protein tangles to be removed/cleared from the brain by the newly discovered glymphatic system which relaxes/opens during sleep. Also, many suggestions to improve the gut bacteria , etc. other hallmarks of the new perspective offered by functional medicine.

I have no affiliation with this organization or any of the presenters.
I just found it informative and encouraging. Also it encompasses the path that I have chosen over the last 2 and a half years to deal with my illness.
