"Interesting as the Chinese physiological face is, the psychological face makes a still more fascinating study. It is not a face that can be washed or shaved, but a face that can be "granted" and "lost" and "fought for" and "presented as a gift". Here we arrive at the most curious point of Chinese social psychology. Abstract and intangible, it is yet the most delicate standard by which Chinese social intercourse is regulated.[1] ....." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Face_(...ogical_concept)
In the TV series "Lie to Me" study of the face and micro expressions is the science...had me at hello...simple acknowledgement carries tremendous power for some....a way to honor truth from the inside. The "masked face" feature of pd may have a LOT to tell us. I have long felt that keys tobreakthrough moments in healing can be found in signatures of illness and this particular one may be all too often glossed over if not explored in a larger context. Was I Japanese in a past life where I "lost face"? or do I carry a burden from an ancestor where ones' name was a very intimate expression -- a real term of endearment. In this life I am known by more than one name....some not similar.. politeness can be a sort of trigger for me - at once shalllow but sometimes can strike me to my core https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5HeSglGezM .
