I know this phenomenon exists..At my Dec appointment, my MDS/programmer tried a few adjustments, to get to better understand my condition..Before I left that day, he said that he wanted to try 3 more settings before I go home..He said..Ok it's on..I would have sworn that I felt the electricity in my brain..Tell me how you feel..Ok, how do you feel?..I told him I feel a weakness just above and below my right leg..He said ok, I am going to go one step higher..He said Im going to tell you when I am ready..Ok, how does that feel?..I had the worst dyskinesia I have ever had in my life..Ok, I going back down to your base line, and the dyskinesia stopped..Then he said he was gonna go one notch higher..Ok, here we go..How is that setting..My legs had this overwhelming sense of weakness..I stood up, and could not move one step..Then the Dr told me that he turned the DBS off..How do you feel now..I said that I felt relaxed, good..Then he said, there is something I have to tell you..The programming device was off the whole time..He didn't activate the batteries, so I reacted to nothing 3 times..My Dr told me that he does that to some of his patients to get a feel of what they are thinking..So I asked him, "What am I thinking"..His answer was, You want all the benefits of the DBS without turning it on, and I said that's right That blew my mind..I am still trying to digest that BTW..Harley and I got engaged 18 months ago
